Proton itself is a Malaysian based corporation that in 1996 acquired 95% of the British Sports Manufacturer "Lotus". The Proton range now benefits from Lotus's "Ride and Handling Packages" which is evident in the popular Satria Gti and more recently the Proton Savvy and Gen 2. The complete range consists of the economical level GX models through to sports and performance models such as the Satria GXR, plus the exciting all new luxurious comforts of the Lotus engineered Proton Gen 2.
